July 17, 2007: Service Fees Introduced At Airports

SERVICE FEES INTRODUCED AT AIRPORTS

JOHANNESBURG, 17 July 2007.

Service fees will be introduced to all South African Express travellers for tickets not purchased online www.flysax.com.

These fees will become effective from 1 August 2007 and will apply to all tickets bought at airport ticketing offices in Johannesburg, Cape Town, Port Elizabeth, East London and Durban, at airport sales desks and SAA City Offices.

This will empower travellers to take control of their itinerary and ease queue congestion at South African Express service desks at the abovementioned stations.

South African Express joins other world class airlines in charging these service fees. An additional charge of R200 will apply to all domestic tickets and R500 for regional (into the rest of Africa) and international tickets purchased at airport ticket offices and sales desks.

The service fee also applies when a booking is made online and the “pay later” option is chosen and a customer intends on collecting and paying for the ticket at an airport ticketing counter. It will not apply if the “pay later” option is chosen and payment is made on www.flysax.com. This reminder will also appear for customers booking online www.flysax.com.

Included in the service fee are: VAT and Voyager upgrades. Involuntary re-routing will not be charged for.
