3 things not to miss on the Soweto Tour

Aaaah! Just the sound of Soweto gets our adrenaline pumping and our mouths watering. Soweto to Johannesburg is like a sweet treat to a toddler – irresistible to ignore!
The secret about this beautiful residential area south west of Jozi is that you can have out of body experiences (try bungee jumping!) and great food for just a fraction of the price you’d pay anywhere else. Now, if that’s not enough reason to take one of the cheap domestic flights to Jozi, this should make you think twice:
Orlando Cooling Towers
If you enjoy the adrenaline rush that comes with taking risks and you’re not a ‘scardy-cat’ then a 100m bungee jump from the Orlando Towers should be on your bucket list. Don’t be deceived by the mesmerizing illustrations and colour of the towers. They will make you scream for your mommy and your daddy - an experience you will never forget! There’s also an option to wear a straitjacket for added protection. So, after flying to Johannesburg make sure you head for the township and go and line up.
Nelson Mandela House
After your bungee jump, slow things down a bit by going on an engaging tour in the very same house Nelson Mandela used to call home before and after he was imprisoned. Situated at 8115 Vilakazi Street, the four bedroom house is now considered to be a heritage site. The home conjures up beautiful memories of Nelson Mandela’s humble beginnings and into what his environment used to look like. Various awards received by Nelson Mandela, family photos and other memorabilia are on display. After your visit, take a walk to a nearby restaurant in the same street and unwind with a refreshing drink and a quiet, traditional lunch.
The Apartheid Museum
Relive the country’s tumultuous past. But be warned, immersing yourself in the injustices of the recent past will leave you emotionally drained. You’ll be able to relive experiences and imagine what the country was really like during this dark period of our history. Dramatic video and audio clips, personal artefacts as well as grueling photographs illustrate the rise and demise of Apartheid. After boarding one of the many flights to Johannesburg, make sure you don’t miss this historically significant museum as it is a mere 30 minute’s drive from the O.R Tambo International Airport.
